Privacy Policy

Toxi ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Toxi mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy identifies what data we collect, how we collect it, all uses of that data, and with whom we share it—including third-party AI services.
Key Point: We do not store your chat screenshots or conversation content. All analysis is performed in real-time and your data is deleted immediately after processing.
1. What Data We Collect
We collect the following information:
Information you provide:
- Profile information: Name (optional), gender, age range, and relationship status that you provide during onboarding.
- Chat content (sensitive personal data): When you upload a screenshot of a conversation and add optional context (e.g. background or notes), we collect the text extracted from that screenshot and any context you type. This may include sensitive or personal conversation content. We collect this only when you explicitly submit it for analysis.
- Device identifier: A unique device ID generated on installation to maintain your account.
How we collect it: Profile information is collected when you enter it during in-app onboarding. Chat content is collected when you upload a screenshot and (optionally) type context in the App; that content is sent to our servers for analysis. Device and usage information is collected automatically when you use the App.
Information collected automatically:
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and language preferences.
- Usage data: Number of analyses performed, feature usage patterns, and app interaction data.
- Push notification tokens: If you opt in to notifications, we store your push token to send relevant updates.
2. All Uses of Your Data
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
- AI analysis: The chat content you submit (text from screenshots and context you type) is sent to our servers and to third-party AI service providers to generate conversation analysis, red-flag insights, toxicity/interest/effort metrics, and suggested replies. This is the primary use of the sensitive personal data you provide.
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features.
- Manage your account, subscription status, and analysis quota.
- Send push notifications about your analyses or important updates (only with your consent).
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the App experience.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms.
3. Third-Party AI Services and Data Sharing
To provide our analysis features, we send the content you submit (text extracted from your screenshots and any context you type) to third-party AI service providers. Specifically:
- AI analysis provider: Used for conversation analysis, red-flag detection, and generating insights. Your content is processed according to that provider's privacy policy.
- Text extraction (e.g. vision AI): Used to extract text from chat screenshots. Data is processed according to that provider's privacy policy.
These providers process your data solely to perform the analysis and do not use your data for their own training purposes. We transmit your data securely and do not retain the raw content after processing.
Third-party protection: We require any third-party service that receives your personal data (including our AI providers) to protect it with the same or equal level of protection as described in this Privacy Policy and to use it only for the purposes we specify. Our agreements with these providers include confidentiality and data protection obligations.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Chat screenshots: Temporarily processed in memory and deleted immediately after analysis. Not stored on our servers.
- Analysis results: Stored in your conversation history so you can review past analyses. You can delete these at any time.
- Profile data: Stored securely in our database with encryption in transit (TLS/SSL).
- Image uploads: If applicable, stored in encrypted cloud storage (AWS S3) with restricted access.
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, rate limiting, and secure authentication to protect your data.
5. Subscription and Payments
Payments are processed through Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment information directly. Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat, a third-party subscription platform. Please refer to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment-related data.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only as follows:
- Third-party AI service providers: As described in Section 3, we send the chat content you submit to these providers solely for analysis. We require them to provide the same or equal protection for your data as set out in this policy.
- Cloud infrastructure providers: For hosting and data storage (e.g., AWS), under strict data protection terms.
- Payment processors: Apple, Google, and RevenueCat for subscription management.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Delete your account: You can delete your account and all associated data through the App's profile settings. This will permanently remove your personal information, conversations, and analysis history.
- Access your data: Request a copy of your personal data by contacting us.
- Opt out of notifications: Disable push notifications through your device settings.
- Manage subscriptions: Cancel or modify your subscription through your device's app store settings.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:
- Personal information (name, gender, age, situation) is immediately cleared.
- All conversations and analysis history are permanently deleted.
- Your device identifier is retained in anonymized form solely to prevent abuse of free analysis quotas.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the European Union and the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
